Shopping Overseas

It’s that time of year when many of us travel overseas for a restful vacation — a restful vacation filled with shopping, that is! Although Canada boasts some great design shops, it’s always fun to pick up unique items from boutiques in Europe. Here are a few fashionable spots that won’t break your travel budget.

Whether you’re passing through Europe or the Middle East, be sure to stop at Zara Home. Just as affordable as its clothing counterpart, Zara Home is filled with all the latest looks in home decor.

For more cheap-and-chic accessories, check out H&M Home. If you’re looking for rustic-industrial style and graphic textiles, you (and your wallet) will love H&M Home.

British Boutique Cabbage & Roses is a lovely shop filled with housewares and fabrics (and fashion!). The look is very much old English country — think linens and cottons, chintz and ginghams, all in soft muted colours. A simple way to add an authentic English decorative accent to your home here in Canada.

A bit pricier but well worth the mini-splurge is Denmark’s Day by Birger et Mikkelsen. Make sure to check out their pretty accessories when in Denmark, Sweden, the U.K. or Ireland.

I’m sure we’ll see some of these stores pop up around Canada in the near future, but for the moment, it’s fun to shop in all the best home stores overseas! Where do you like to shop when travelling abroad?
