With all of the warm, sunny weather we’ve been enjoying lately, who wants to be inside? Personally, I love to barbecue all year round. It keeps the heat out of the kitchen — not to mention the mess — so, what could be better?
With so many well-designed barbecues on the market, it’s hard to choose. A big part of my choice was based on how it looked — the cleaner the design, the better. You don’t want a unit with so many dials and bells and whistles that it looks like the thing is going to take off to the moon. Barbecues can be an investment, so do your homework and find the unit with the right BTUs (British Thermal Unit, a basic measure of thermal energy) and appearance. After all, you will hopefully have this sucker for a while. You’ll find a couple of my faves below.
Of course, once you’ve chosen the right barbecue, you need a beautiful outdoor space to show it off. Check out my inspiration shots below. Happy grilling!
I love this little Paramount Folding Notebook Grill from Sears, too. It’s so cute, and so affordable ($60). It would be a super stylish barbecue if you don’t have room for a big guy. It’s also portable enough for picnics, or as an extra charcoal grill if you have a gas unit.
This would be a pretty nice spot to put your feet up and have an alfresco dinner. I love the vintage mismatched chairs and simple colour palette. I imagine that we would have grilled fish at this party.
This is a little bit of heaven. I bet it’s nice and cool inside this lovely brick foundation. The iron candle bits and checked cloth are perfect. Pass the grilled veggies, please!
