My hubby bought me a gloxinia quite a while ago -- and as usual, I was quite proficient at killing it!! I cut it all back and relegated it to a step by the patio door in the basement. I watered it when I thought about it (maybe once a week, if it was lucky!!) And now the silly plant is covered with buds and has 3 gorgeous blooms!! Here are a couple of pics....

Lisi, that rose picture is gorgeous!! Wow!!

All your nice comments about my photos are really inspiring me to take a shot at trying to put together a gardening book of some sort. My friend and I both love blue & purple flowers, and we were talking yesterday about creating a book that's all about blue & purple flowers. She takes amazing garden pictures -- I think hers are better than mine!! She has a better camera than me, so that must be why ;)

I have some purple African Violets that are in bloom right now -- I think I'm going to take some pictures of those and see how they turn out.

I'll let you all know when our book is available at Chapters ;)

Thanks again for all the kind words :)

Mary Anne, I can't wait to see your hydrangea art!!

I know what you mean about lack of time -- there just aren't enough hours in the day to do everything that needs to be done.

Whenever you have a chance to do your pastels, please post some pictures so we can see them :)

Feel free to make drawings of my hydrangeas, if you'd like :) I know Jazzie used a geranium picture from my photo album as a model for one of her paintings. I have oher hydrangea pics in my album, if you want to take a look at them. And I have a bunch more on my home computer -- I just can't get enough of them!! If you'd like me to post some more for you, let me know, I can add more to my album.

I'm not a photographer and I don't have a fancy camera!! But thanks for thinking that I am and that I do!! :)

I have a very basic Canon PowerShot A300 -- it's an entry-level digital camera. I've been using it all summer to take pictures of our flower garden. I hope I can use some of them to hang as artwork in our house.

Foxxy, I didn't know that about watering gloxinia -- guess it's a good thing that I forgot to water it on a pretty much regular basis!!

I think the flash added a bit of a neon-like glow to it!!
