12 Powder Rooms That Pack A Punch!
Updated on November 17, 2023

“Guests always emerge smiling,” says fashion stylist Erica Wark of the petite powder room in her Toronto rowhouse. Take a look back at some of the best powder rooms from the H&H archives. Which one is your favorite?

Bright and playful wallpaper in this powder room designed by homeowner and designer Jennifer Overweel complements a pink onyx sink.

Being in fashion stylist Erica Wark’s orbit has clearly had an effect on her husband Corey Laurysen,: he chose the wild wallpaper in the powder room.

Christian Lacroix’s Prête-Moi Ta Plume wallpaper — adorning the walls of this powder room — is a favorite moment. “I love all the pattern in this house,” says the homeowner. “It’s not in your face; it’s just a lovely, soothing blend.”

“When I saw the wallpaper with figs, rabbits and swallows, it was perfect. It’s whimsical and feels fitting in an old house,” said actress Karine Vanasse of her Quebec chateau powder room. A vintage-inspired vanity and gallery wall complement the wallpaper.

“The powder room is small, so it gave us the opportunity to do something bold and dramatic,” says designer Karen Shearim. A faux finish on the walls was created using black paint and gold leaf.

Emily Griffin brightened up this powder room with a glossy-framed mirror and a white, space-saving sink. Whimsical leaf-print wallpapers — a recurring theme throughout — climb the walls and add a breezy, tropical vibe.

Ali Budd is known for her high-impact use of color and pattern, and this homeowner instantly fell for the graphic, peach-hued Kelly Wearstler wallpaper destined for the powder room.

Veined marble and bold wallpaper transform a formerly all-white powder room in this home by color master Monica Fried.

For this powder room sink, the designers earmarked a dynamic block of Calacatta Viola marble. They were so captivated, they ordered more for the ensuite. “The fabricator called to warn us about the antique-looking golden background. We love it,” says Maayan Kessler.

A compact powder room in this front foyer swaps the predictable mirror above the vanity for a slab of tiger’s eye semiprecious quartz.

Zebra wallpaper in this main-floor powder room reflects the homeowner’s South African roots.

Collective Studio used texture over color to make a statement in this powder room. A fluted vanity is topped with a marble slab, while an original stained-glass window adds Old World character.
