Emma Roberts Buys Minnie Driver’s Hollywood Hills Bungalow for $3.6M

This sweet 1940s Hollywood Hills bungalow recently scooped up by actor and Belletrist cofounder, Emma Roberts, also has a star pedigree. She bought it from English actress Minnie Driver who had the bungalow designed by L.A. designer Peter Dunham. According to Dirt.com, the home is nestled on an almost half-acre parcel of land secluded from the street behind double gates and hedges. Emma’s new digs include a two-bedroom, 2.5 bath main house and detached one-bedroom, one-bath guest cottage, for a total of just over 2,700-square-feet across a single level. Sold fully furnished, the home is bedecked with colorful fabrics and vintage furnishings complemented by dark hardwood floors and soaring ceilings.

In the living room, a sofa flanked by bookcases and lit by articulated sconces makes a pretty spot to read. Punchy pink armchairs update a classic profile. A woven rug brings a casual, Cali vibe, along with a woven peacock chair (seen right).

The room also boats a wood-burning fireplace and a leaded glass bay window overlooking the lush green grounds.

A casual family room with French doors is perfect for indoor-outdoor entertaining. The beams are painted out on the vaulted ceiling and anchored by a large globe pendant for an airy look.

The quaint bungalow has plenty of built-in bookshelves to display favorite objets. Minnie extensively renovated the home during her time there, updating the bathrooms and a kitchen with modern appliances.

An updated gourmet kitchen comes complete with high-end Viking appliances. Off-white shaker cabinets, subway tile, stainless steel appliances, and a farmhouse-style back door are timeless.

The kitchen looks out to the breakfast nook, which is dressed in a medley of mismatched fabrics for a South of France feel.

The sunny breakfast nook is bordered with a striped built-in banquette. The Provencal-style fabrics create a cheery ambience.

In the principal suite, Quadrille-style wallpaper wraps around the walls and ceilings. A four-poster bed and tufted leather daybed add an appropriately English feel to Minnie’s former bedroom.

The principal ensuite has romantic box moldings and dark floors. For leisurely bathing, a soaker tub is topped by a Venetian mirror, while the adjoining shower room is super spacious and light filled.

This walk-in closet is celeb worthy, with plenty of dedicated spots for shoes and red carpet essentials. A window seat overlooking the tree tops strikes a quaint, old fashioned note.

The oasis-like backyard contains a lagoon-style pool and spa flanked by a charming brick-floored gazebo. Mature trees and oversized boulders provide lots of natural screening from prying paparazzi.
