Follow These 15 Designers On Instagram — And See Inside Their Homes!
If you’re anything like the House & Home editorial team, you love perusing Instagram for design inspiration. Skimming the feeds of designers, stylists and retailers is a foolproof way to tune into the trends — and get a peek inside their beautiful homes. Packed with eye candy, here are 15 Instagram accounts to check out now.
Toronto-based designer Sam Sacks is a House & Home favorite for good reason: Her rooms are always eclectic, youthful and livable. In her own mostly white home, natural light spills into every room, while exotic chandeliers, rugs and accessories add plenty of visual interest.
Nam Dang-Mitchell is another one of H&H’s go-to designers. Based out of Calgary, she’s known for her contemporary-meets-classic aesthetic — and absolutely show-stopping kitchens! This shot of her own space highlights her love of handsome hardware, stone and lighting.
John Baker, who co-owns design shop Mjölk with his wife Juli Daoust-Baker, gives his followers a glimpse into his own striking, Scandi-style house on his personal Instagram account. We love eyeing the new accent pieces he picks up, and admiring his knack for display.
Designer Philip Mitchell posts images of his wide range of projects on his account, but he also includes the occasional shot of his own homes. This snap captures the charm of his Chester, Nova Scotia, guesthouse, with its classic paneling and traditional fixtures.
H&H alum and designer Cameron MacNeil also offers a glimpse into own home on his eye-catching account. Here, he shows how surrounding a TV with framed artwork can help it blend more seamlessly into a room.
We love peeking at designer Mazen El-Abdallah’s latest designs, as well as the expertly styled vignettes in his own house. In his living room, a vase of branches echoes the light, sculptural lines of the lamp, while a shorter vessel brings a nice touch of texture to the arrangement.
Designer Allison Willson’s home and cottage (the latter shown here) have been H&H reader favorites, and it’s easy to see why. The Sarah Richardson Design team member is skilled at balancing crisp color palettes with warmer detailing, not to mention creating enviable flower arrangements.
Who doesn’t love an artfully balanced gallery wall? Retailer Arren Williams has the technique mastered, as evidenced by this shot of his own eclectic display. Love a global accent piece or one-of-a-kind accessory? His feed is packed with those, too!
Designer Richard Ouellette is the chief photographer behind Les Ensembliers’ Instagram account, and his laid-back shots are chock-full of inspiration, whether they’re quick snaps of his dogs, design projects or partner, Maxime Vandal, relaxing in one of their stunning homes.
If minimal and natural is more your speed, wander over to West Coast designer Sophie Burke’s account. We love to admire her breezy, less-is-more approach to decorating (and emulate it in our own homes).
Designer Deb Nelson’s Instagram account is as fresh as her East Coast cottage, shown here. Airy white spaces with nautical touches abound on her feed — perfect inspiration for your own weekend getaway!
Another one of H&H’s A-List designers, Anne Hepfer has crafted an Instagram account with serious style. Sophisticated shots like this picture of her own Lake Joseph, Ontario, cottage make us want to restyle all our tables and mantels immediately!
Designer Sarah Hartill is another H&H alum, and we can’t get enough of her sunny, family-friendly aesthetic. Here’s a shot she shared of her Toronto living room, styled effortlessly with a glass bowl, textured vase and refreshingly wild floral arrangement.
While he loves to post travel snaps, every so often, designer and TV personality Tommy Smythe offers a peek inside his own spaces — and it’s more than worth the follow! This photo of his guest bedroom is a lesson in decorating with rich color, antique furniture and glam lighting.
