IKEA Canada Creates 10 Love Seats Inspired By The Pride Flags

To celebrate Pride, IKEA Canada collaborated with four designers active in and supportive of the 2SLGBTQ+ community to create sofa slipcovers inspired by the colors of the Pride flags. Fashion designer Bianca Daniela Nachtman, illustrator and muralist Madison Van Rijn, fashion designer, illustrator and researcher Charlotte Carbone and fashion designer Ali Haider dreamed up 10 artful designs to honor the diversity and resilience of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. “Molding these couches to reflect someone’s intimate experience was one of the most rewarding aspects of this project,” says Bianca. The campaign is a platform for people to celebrate their identity and share stories of love.

“It means so much for us to have the focus of the campaign be our love for ourselves and one another because that love is what sparks a feeling of home and belonging within the queer community,” says Jules Reeves, a trans woman featured in the campaign with her partner Michael.

From the nonbinary flag to the 2spirit flag, see all 10 of the Love Seats here. The Love Seats will be on display at select IKEA locations across Canada throughout the summer.
