Meet The Designer Behind Kim Kardashian & Kanye West’s Home

As their family continues to grow, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been focused on making their 15,000-square-foot Hidden Hills home perfect. Since purchasing the $20 million property in 2014, the couple reportedly dropped another $20 million on just the renovations and have been collaborating with the master of minimalism, Axel Vervoordt.
Originally based out of Belgium, Vervoordt’s neutral and timeless style is similar to Kimye’s previous home. The Belgian designer is known for his pale-washed walls, salvaged beams and antiques juxtaposed with ancient sculpture and abstract paintings. His previous clients include Robert De Niro and Calvin Klein.

Texture abounds in this hallway, where a crumpled linen chair and antique chest sit in harmony.

A wall of large-scale tile brings surprising warmth to this fairly bare room. Simple furniture silhouettes act as sculpture.

This rustic wood table offers warmth to the pale-washed walls, while an arched window streams light in, bringing life to the design.

The impressive architecture of this A-frame structure is on full display thanks to exposed beams and a serene white palette.

In this modern tone-on-tone bathroom, an oval standalone tub steals the show.

With natural light at a premium in this living room, white furniture keeps it looking airy.

In this opulent dining room, a brilliant glass chandelier emphasizes the high ceilings and ornate architecture.

Color is a rare find in Axel’s designs. Here, he still manages to keep a timeless aesthetic present with a curated collection of traditional furniture.

A sunroom filled with greenery off this indoor pool creates incredible sight lines.

In this spacious white bathroom, black hardware adds a subtle graphic hit to the serene aesthetic.

Weathered hardwood floors, exposed beams, a wood-burning fireplace and comfy seating creates a cozy feel despite the spare furniture.

Less is definitely more in this minimalist bedroom, where a historic vibe is very much present thanks to pale-washed walls and molded ceilings.

Salvaged beams and a rustic slab coffee table add texture this this simple space.

Light streams into this serene pool area, and reflects the surroundings off the water like glass.
