Ssense , Montreal
333 rue Chabanel O.
Since it launched online in 2006 and then opened its only brick-and-mortar store in Old Montreal in 2018, Ssense has made buying hard-to-find avant-garde fashion tantalizingly easy. Now, it’s doing the same for style-forward homewares. Its new department, titled Everything Else , spans accessories, technology, tabletop, kitchen gadgets and more from a mix of emerging and established brands. The defining look is gender-neutral with a contemporary edge. Amorphous candles from New York’s Hannah Jewett , lighting by local firm Lambert & Fils , pillows by L.A.’s The Elder Statesman and architectural coffee makers from Taiwan’s Bi.Du.Haev will have your virtual or real-life shopping bag bursting in no time.

Sydney’s , Toronto
682 Queen St. W.
The bespoke men’s suiting and workwear boutique opened by Sydney Mamane in 2005 has extended its calm, minimal aesthetic to home goods for the kitchen, bath and living spaces. Objects sourced from Canadian, American and Japanese designers turn timeless materials such as wood, porcelain, linen and brass into candles, vases, glassware and dinnerware with an artisanal, modern feel. An in-house line of soft goods, including table linens, aprons and pillows made from luxe cotton, wool or linen fabrics, draws on the store’s tailoring expertise and rounds out the offering, which is available at the store and online.
