Ken Hom’s Chinese Recipes

Ken Hom, renowned chef, host of PBS’s Great Food, and author of 28 cookbooks, has come out with yet another cookbook, Complete Chinese Cookbook (2011 Firefly Books). With a comprehensive introduction to Chinese cuisine, a breakdown of regional styles, various cooking techniques, and recipes with little prep and accessible ingredients, this book is a must-have in any kitchen library. Host a Chinese-themed dinner party and serve guests Hom’s hot and sour soup or spicy pork soup with black bean sauce (pictured above, left), followed by a sweet banana compote for dessert.
