Festive Squares

A winning combination of peanut butter, oats and chocolate, these simple squares take just minutes to prepare — and they never stay around for much longer than that!


  •  3 cups sugar
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • 5 tbsp cocoa
  • ¾ cup 2% milk
  • ¾ cup peanut butter
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 ½ cups rolled oats


Yield: Makes 36

  1. Mix sugar, butter, cocoa and milk together in a microwaveable bowl, then microwave on high for 3 minutes. Take out and stir until lumps are mostly gone, then microwave for 3 minutes more.
  2. Add peanut butter and vanilla to the bowl, mixing until peanut butter has melted. Then add oats, one cup at a time, and mix until well combined.
  3. Pour mixture into a 9″ x 13″ baking dish and let set in fridge at least 8 hours or overnight. Cut into squares and serve.
