Paper Art For A Nursery
I was at The Paper Place on Toronto’s Queen Street West researching an upcoming story when I came across this gorgeous paper from Nepal. Beautiful birds cut from gilded embossed paper and then sewn onto lush paper — only $5.95/sheet!
My immediate thought was to frame the paper and hang it in Tate’s room, which will soon be used as a nursery again (I’m presently 7 months pregnant!). I chose pink not because we’re having a girl (we decided not to find out the sex of the baby), but because I’m outnumbered! I selected the 50 x 70 cm white Ribba frame ($20) from Ikea, trimmed the edges of the paper and voilà.
The bird motif is available in pink (as shown), blue and green, and it’s also available in a butterfly motif. Garlands and flags are also available, but swing by soon as they sell out quickly.
