Updated Classics: Boho Style

Discover fresh alternatives to popular design trends in our online series, Updated Classics.

Classic Pick: Fabric designer Beth Poulter’s living room is a testament to her love of travel and artful layering of colorful patterns. A variety of different floral scales are mixed together, and anchored by a deep floral rug with Bloomsbury overtones.
Fresh Spin: Exuberant florals and a Persian carpet inject a freewheeling global touch, but neutral linen slipcovers give the eye a place to rest. A light floor is a clean backdrop, and wood furnishings add warmth.

I would have to say that the classical example is more my style.

    Love that wallpaper!

The “classic” is a real living space. The fresh spin looks like a studio set-up. The wallpaper is lovely though. But I’d appreciate this editorial approach with a more equal footing.
