DIY: Wallpaper Art

Many high-end wallpapers can be ordered in painting-size pieces and then mounted under Plexiglas for a straight-from-the-gallery look. This pattern juxtaposes moody oceanic shapes with soft, sunny colors and acts as a dramatic focal point at a fraction of the cost of papering an entire living room.

1. Create the frame by cutting a piece of plywood slightly larger than the wallpaper.
2. Attach strips of 1″-thick trim around the edges of the back with finishing nails to give it depth, then wrap the plywood and trim in linen and staple in place on the back side.
3. Stick the wallpaper to the fabric using double-sided tape. Have a sheet of Plexiglas cut to the same size as the plywood and a hole drilled in each corner. Screw the plastic to the plywood and hang.
