DIY: Patterned Tile Coffee Table

Updated on February 17, 2017

This porcelain beauty has all the patina of an encaustic tile but stands up to spills and steals the spotlight when featured center stage on a living room coffee table.

  1. To make the tiled top, cut a piece of plywood to the size of your tile arrangement, attach the tiles with construction adhesive and grout seams.
  2. Set the board on a table with a top roughly the same size and attach sections of 2″-high trim around the outside edge to finish.
  3. To keep it from being pushed off, secure the board to the tabletop from underneath with screws or construction adhesive.
