Classic Pick: Senior design editor Stacey Smithers added flair to her basic white linen sheets by dyeing the edges inky purple for a subtle ombré effect. The softness of the ombré gives the room an organic and tranquil quality. A lilac purple quilt enhances the gradient.

Fresh Spin: For a more graphic look, senior editor Morgan Michener used the ancient Japanese dyeing method of shibori. The pillows take on the look of a traditional Japanese tie-dye, striking yet soft-edged. Brass zippers add a modern spin.
