Inside Zoe Saldana’s $16.5M Beverly Hills Estate

Actress Zoe Saldana is putting her traditional, white brick estate up for US$16.5 million, according to the Robb Report. The three-storey structure was originally built in 1974, but it’s full of charming, Old Hollywood details, from the ivy-covered walls to the tennis court.
The veteran film actress — best known for her roles in Star Trek, Avatar and Guardians of the Galaxy — bought the house from model and entrepreneur Kimora Lee Simmons for $8.7 million back in spring 2016. The property is tucked away on a gated half-acre community in Hidden Valley Estates, which is also home to Adele, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz.

Visitors pass through manicured gardens before being greeted at the sunshine-yellow door under a columned front porch.

The double-height entry foyer has a curving staircase with sleek, contemporary mouldings.

The formal dining room’s wainscotted walls and elaborate chandelier contrast contemporary floating shelves.

Located off the kitchen, a separate breakfast room has French doors that lead out to the patio.

The bespoke kitchen has a French feel with a glitzy white enamel stove, dramatic marble island and backsplash and brass-detailed cabinets.

The wood-paneled family room has a long sofa to accommodate the whole family.

Plus, French doors that spill out to a terrace.

It features five bedrooms and seven baths in 6,400-square-feet of living. The home’s principal suite comes complete with a sitting area, a marble bathroom and a large double-closet dressing room.

The de rigueur media room is outfitted with cushy, tufted pastel sofas.

The house has direct access to Franklin Canyon hiking trails, but the large pool and built-in spa is shielded by tall privacy hedges.

An outdoor kitchen and dining area is shaded by a pergola inset with lattice panels that throw lacy patterns in the sunshine.

The perfectly maintained tennis court is bordered by neatly clipped shrubs and is lit for night matches.

This outdoor lounge area is equipped with bulbous chartreuse lounge furniture that resembles tennis balls.
