Tour Actress Shay Mitchell’s Glam California Guest House

Actress Shay Mitchell’s stylish new California guesthouse is a reflection of her global, fashion-forward aesthetic. “I would say my design style is Moroccan-meets-Mediterranean with a touch of glam,” says the Pretty Little Liars star. Shay teamed up with Wayfair and designer-to-the-stars Mat Sanders of Consort Design to create a light-filled oasis for her friends and family to stay in while visiting her in Los Angeles.
Bold yet feminine, the layered space features mid-century modern furniture, graphic tiling and a soothing palette of blush, black, and white. Click through to see the glamorous guest house that’s become an extension of her home.

Mat created high-contrast throughout the space, bringing in pieces like this inviting dark grey couch to stand out against the crisp white walls.

A black and white palette creates a bold backdrop for gold accents and collected pieces. In the living room, warm neutrals found in the sisal rug and mid-century modern chairs add character.

Layered rugs, wicker baskets and a pile of patterned pillows bring in texture.

Treasured finds, many from Shay’s travels around the world, bring a layered look to the coffee table.

Matte black is sprinkled throughout the space — found here on the door, window frames and accessories — adding graphic edge to this work corner.

A Moroccan-style throw mirrors the graphic tile underfoot in this global seating area.

High-fashion brass details act as jewelry throughout the space.

Graphic tile makes a bold statement against the plain white walls, while an arched ledge holds a dash of pretty.

A well-lit dressing area is an obvious must for a star.

The spare, modern kitchen is outfitted with classic Shaker-style cabinets and is adjacent to the living area, making it easy to entertain guests.

An abstract art piece radiates above the clear desk in the office corner.

Edgy black and white tile clads this built-in bed, while a blush velvet cushion creates a cozy nook perfect for reading, sleeping or hanging out.

A floor-to-ceiling vision board is a source of constant inspiration for Shay, while a money tree adds a hit of greenery.
