Tour An English Country House Co-Designed By Kate Moss

If there’s one thing British supermodel Kate Moss knows, it’s a statement-making look. So, naturally, when we heard the fashion trendsetter had dipped her toes into interior design, it piqued our curiosity: would her aesthetic be minimal and stark like her waif-ish ’90s persona, casual and cool like her London street style, or glamorous and edgy like her red-carpet looks?
As it turns out, the home Kate helped design for her good friend John Hitchcox, founder of YOO design studio, is a little bit of everything. Nestled in a charming birch forest in the Cotswolds, the five-bedroom country house is decorated with a mix of rich colors, mod lighting, eclectic accents and bold art. Taken together, the interiors have a layered, almost retro vibe — a fitting foil to the home’s clean and contemporary exterior.
For 2.5 million pounds, you can own what Moss calls, “a luxurious haven in the woods” — or you can browse through our gallery and get inspired to do some fashion-forward decorating of your own.

YOO design studio went with a streamlined, barn-style shell — clad in natural Cotswold stone — to give this country home a modern look. A slim pool invites its occupants to get outside and enjoy the bucolic rural setting.

The double-height living and dining space is open to the home’s kitchen, allowing for seamless entertaining. Velvet seating and throw pillows in saturated jewel tones keep the modern space from feeling cold.

The living room also boasts expansive floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the 650-acre property’s gorgeous grounds and lakefront.

The design team mounted a gallery wall of art prints and black and white photographs to turn the transitional stairway into a focal point all its own.

This kids’ room — one of five bedrooms in the home — stands out from the crowd, thanks to a riot of bold stripes and vibrant color.

In the loft-style principal bedroom, mirrored surfaces and plush textiles put a retro spin on glamour. This room also showcases pieces from the home’s impressive collection of modern art, which includes works by celebrated English artists Damien Hirst and Chris Levine.
