Pantry Marinade

Sambal oelek is a spicy Southeast Asian chili sauce. For a milder marinade, reduce the amount of sambal oelek by half. Double the recipe for larger steak cuts.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sambal oelek
  • 2 tbsp water

Directions

Yield: Makes 1/3 cups

  1. Mix ingredients together in bowl.
  2. Marinate meat for an hour at room temperature or a minimum of 2 hours in the refrigerator.
