Designer Jean Stéphane Beauchamp explains how he transformed a kitchen into a family-friendly cooking and entertaining space. See how he updated the layout using a new color palette, luxurious materials and custom millwork.

Jean Stéphane used the homeowner’s favorite china cabinet as the starting point for the decor, repeating similar lines in the cabinetry throughout. A large U-shaped peninsula is big enough to fit seven people cooking at once, while a utilitarian freezer and wine cooler is set off to the side with the rest of the storage. Pendant lighting and pops of blue add personality to the timeless space.
