Designer Margie Doyle believes that a bedroom should make you excited to wake up in the morning. See how she uses soft colors and muted patterns to create that environment in her client’s bedrooms. Plus, get gorgeous bathroom design ideas and a look at the home’s beautiful basement.

To create a bright and airy backdrop, Margie used white on all the walls on the second floor. The master bedroom is soothing and contemporary, with a lilac and grey palette, and luxurious texture brought in through the printed duvet cover, accessories, colorful paintings and area rug. In the master ensuite, the look is vintage. A clawfoot tub is surrounded by marble, polished nickel hardware and an antique phone.

The little girls’ rooms have a peaceful yet playful aesthetic. Pretty wallpapers, floral accents and beautiful linens create a vintage and delicate feel. The basement is all about fun, with whimsical wallpaper and a large playroom.
