See how designer Tommy Smythe transforms a small space into a major fashion house for Holt Renfrew’s Lisa Tant.

To reflect the fashion-forward personality of his client, Tommy stuck to a palette of black, white, and grey with pops of color. He adds luxurious walnut floors to the kitchen, and chooses a black-countered island to act as the divider from the living area. Inspired by ancient libraries, the unused space behind the spiral staircase is transformed into a bookcase. For added flair, the staircase is given ombre treatment with each step fading from grey to white. By sticking to a neutral palette and using colorful decor to add personality, the end result is a modern and trendy home fit for a fashionista.
