DIY: Seasonal Leaf Garland

Published on December 11, 2015

This seasonal leaf garland mimics the look of winter greenery covered in a blanket of snow. Read on for instructions or watch the video.

Materials

You’ll need cardstock, a scoring knife, craft wire, glue, and florist’s wire.

  1. Trace and cut leaves in three different sizes and shapes — we used oak and beech — to create templates (or, use our pre-made templates here).
  2. Trace them on both pure white and newsprint cardstock, then score and glue each leaf to a piece of regular craft wire. The newsprint will add visual depth.
  3. For the main frame, use a stronger-gauge florist’s wire; twist to secure each leaf wire onto the structural wire, and adjust as needed.
