L.A. Architects Design Cat Houses For Charity Auction
Published on April 7, 2016
To raise awareness for the estimated three million stray cats in L.A., an initiative called Giving Shelter, organized by Architects for Animals, invited local designers to build design-forward outdoor cat houses to auction off for charity.
A fundraising event was held in March where the cat houses were put on display and auctioned off online with proceeds going towards the spay-neuter organization FixNation.
12 design firms, including HOK, Pfeiffer Partners Architects, Abramson Teiger Architects, Knowhow Shop and many others, contributed structures that any cat or cat-lover would adore. (Think: geometric structures with kitschy feline-friendly features like a toy mice and fish bowls for pawing.) The perfect shelters, they’re both architecturally unique and clever enough to entertain your cat.
