After leaving her job at a brokerage firm and becoming a decorator, Bonnie Wilson took her career change a step further in June when she opened her antique and vintage furnishings boutique in Vancouver’s West Point Grey area.

The shop features well-designed classics with a fresh feel. “I buy pieces you’ll have for a long time,” she says, noting that upcycling furniture is both eco-conscious and quality-smart. “A newly made piece of the same quality would cost 10 times more.” The shop embraces a mix of eras. Items in styles from 18th-century Georgian and Victorian to mid-century modern are restored or reupholstered, then paired with new lighting and accessories in the store’s bright, airy space.
