After Arne Nordtorp worked with the Art Gallery of Ontario to furnish a wing with Danish pieces, he was inspired to open a store dedicated to Danish design.

His Toronto shop, Torp, brings out the colorful side of Danish style, with bright hues and modern lines. Items range from the industrial, like Muuto’s flexible rubber Unfold pendant lights in bright blue and yellow, to the sublime: one cabinet houses museum-quality, handmade, sterling-silver pieces from Georg Jensen. For renovators, Torp carries streamlined Danish-designed windows and doors from ProTec that boast energy-efficient glass and aluminum and wood frames in a range of colors. The showroom walls are adorned with large-scale artwork from established artists like Canada’s Douglas Coupland, on loan from the Daniel Faria Gallery, and newcomers like Chilean painter Rafael Yaluff Portilla.

Located at 245 Davenport Rd., Suite 200, Toronto.
