Accent Wall Idea

Classic Pick: The accent wall. Introducing a pop of color on one wall can really elevate a space. An accent wall is an opportunity to try out a color that might be overwhelming on all four walls. Plus, if a few years later you’re feeling like a refresh, it’s just one wall to repaint, not four. Benjamin Moore’s Blue Flower (2057-60) is a breezy addition to this condo’s living room, designed by Lino Catalano.

Accent Wall Idea

Fresh Spin: The accent ceiling. White ceilings may be the default for many, but we prefer to think of the ceiling as a room’s fifth wall. Painting ceilings in a contrasting color feels fresh and unexpected. In this example, designer Alison Pringle had the concrete ceiling in her 400-square-foot studio apartment power-sanded and painted in Benjamin Moore’s Blue Flower (2057-60). The high-gloss finish reflects natural light and the sky blue hue gives the small space an airy feel.
