Try three types of meat for more flavour.
1 medium red onion, finely chopped
5 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil or unsalted butter
2 lb. ground turkey
1 lb. ground beef
1 package sweet Italian sausage
2 bunches of scallions, both white and green parts, thinly sliced
1 bunch of fresh cilantro, finely chopped
3 tbsp ground cumin
1 tsp chili powder
2 tbsp Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
1/4 tsp ground pepper
1 tbsp Tabasco sauce
1/4 tsp cayenne
1/2 jalapeño pepper, minced
2-1/2 cups orange juice
One 4-1/2-oz. package taco shells
One 12-oz. package 6" corn tortillas
4 tomatoes, chopped
2 heads Romaine lettuce, chopped
2 onions, chopped
Guacamole or avocado slices
One 12-oz. package shredded cheese
One 16-oz. carton sour cream
Step 1: In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the onion and garlic in the olive oil or butter, stirring frequently, for 3-5 minutes, or until the onion is translucent.
Step 2: Add the ground turkey, beef, and sausage and cook, stirring, until the meat is browned.
Step 3: Add the scallions, cilantro, cumin, chili powder, seasoned salt, pepper, Tabasco, cayenne, jalapeño, and orange juice and cook until the liquid has evaporated, about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 4: Remove the skillet from the heat and serve.
Step 5: To prepare the tacos, lay out the taco shells, tortillas, and condiments (chopped tomatoes, lettuce, onions, guacamole, shredded cheese, and sour cream) and let guests assemble their own.
