The latest project from British firm deVOL, the Charnwood Forest Kitchen features the company’s classic cabinetry painted in a mellow, handsome green, which allows the scale and beauty of the architecture and original features to shine.

Located in the middle of the house, the moody color choice and warm flashes of brass keep the kitchen feeling cosy and intimate. Traditional details like a fireplace, beautiful plaster dental mouldings and wide plank floors make it a place to stop and enjoy, rather than simply being a walkway to the next room.
The bank of fitted cupboards includes a fridge, freezer, two pantries and four ovens. Everything is in one place, neatly housed behind simple doors. The island conceals a double Belfast sink, bins, dishwashers and wine fridge — again, all hidden behind the Shaker cupboard doors. Placed in the corner is deVOL’s Curiosity Cupboard, which has just enough glazed storage to see the spines of much-loved cookbooks, as well as glassware.
More akin to a vintage piece, this vintage-style cupboard shows off favorite crockery, glassware and little trinkets collected over a lifetime.
The cabinets are painted in deVOL’s Bakehouse Green (which lets this apron-front farmhouse sink pop). A brass bridge faucet is perfectly in keeping for a trad kitchen.
Silestone counters and sleek integrated appliances make this an easy space to cook in. Old-fashioned pulley lamps can be adjusted for task lighting over the prep surface, and brass cup pulls are the kind of vintage detail that give authentic charm to this kitchen.
The counter includes a butcher block prep area for chopping and rinsing vegetables.
A narrow freezer is seamlessly hidden within the cabinetry. The cupboards are built right up to the moulding so there is no wasted space.
The fridge is located next to one of the pantries, which makes it convenient to grab ingredients when cooking.
This generous pantry is equipped with spice racks on the doors to save space. Drawers of different sizes are a great way to organize and stash cookware and food.
