Colette van den Thillart: A Novel Wallpaper
In a three-way partnership with L.A. art and design studio Work + Sea and Toronto’s Memo Showroom , designer Colette van den Thillart has reimagined Canadian author Marian Engel’s groundbreaking 1976 novel Bear as a painterly wallpaper. The pattern’s cameo-like moments began as individual oil studies, giving the paper a traditional feel that playfully balances its provocative details.
Photographer: Alex Lukey
“It’s such a conversation starter,” say Colette. “Work + Sea’s fearless and wild approach to making papers is very English. It really was kismet.” Choose from five gorgeous colorways ranging from pale and pretty to dark and moody.

Les Ensembliers: Handcrafted Patterns
In homage to the artisans Montreal, designers Richard Ouellette and Maxime Vandal call on to customize their interiors, the duo has created a collection of wallpapers for Brunschwig & Fils that captures some of their favorite techniques. Metallic brushstrokes with the feel of a bespoke mural, rich textures reminiscent of upholstered walls, glossy finishes that look like lacquer, and a floral-patterned cork that recalls aged plaster deliver high-end looks in a hurry.

“La Brume references a mural in our first cottage, and La Tonnerre is a little Jean-Michel Frank,” says Richard of their inspiration.
