Editor’s Picks: Airy Summer Sheets For A Good Night’s Sleep

Senior editor Sally Armstrong shares the best light bed linens.
Now that it’s windows-open weather, and we can finally enjoy cool breezes at night, I’ve been thinking a lot about the joys of crisp sheets. There’s something so lovely about lying down on a new set of good-quality linens — and there are countless options out there to choose from, whether you’re a fan of all-white or preppy patterns. Here are eight of my favorite sheet sets that are sure to bring a breath of fresh air into your bedrooms this summer.

From afar, this happy print looks like a series of mini dots, but look closer and you’ll see it’s actually made up of a sprinkling of coral and fuchsia squares.

This handsome sheet set has all the crispness of men’s shirting. The flat sheet and pillowcases have a slightly larger gingham pattern, adding a subtle layer of contrast.

This economical floral sheet set would be perfect for a cottage bedroom or girl’s room. I’d combine them with a crisp white coverlet and navy throw.

The delicate scalloped edging on these sheets is pretty, but not precious. Keep the look clean by pairing them with an all-white duvet cover, or have some fun by layering on a little pattern.

Inspired by Parisian fabrics and made using traditional block-printing techniques, these airy cotton sheets will transport you to the French countryside.

The watercolor pattern on these cotton sheets from Coyuchi was inspired by soft Japanese brush paintings. I love their light, simple look.

These cheery yellow-printed sheets from Schoolhouse Electric & Supply Co. will bring a touch of sunny color into a bedroom.

This last set is a personal favorite. The natural texture is heavenly — you just get a different feeling sleeping on linen sheets — and I love the casual, relaxed look they bring to a bedroom.
