An NHL Star Shares A Look Inside His Kids’ Rooms

The couple enlisted the help of designer Alana Chernecki of Brillante Design, who specializes in creating organized, inspiring, functional and creative spaces for children of all ages. Alana used a neutral shell for the girl’s room and boy’s room, then added personality to each with playful decor. Click through to see the spaces and get inspiration for your own kid’s room!

Here’s designer Alana Chernecki with Winnipeg Jets defensemen Dustin Byfuglien.

In their little boy’s room, hits of blue, grey and aqua add life to the neutral shell.

A mix of denim, quilted and linen throw pillows bring cozy texture to the bed.

A basket with a lid placed by the bed is the perfect spot to hide toys without compromising style.

To keep the palette cohesive, a curated collection of toys in muted tones are displayed on top of the dresser.

Transparent shelves house vibrant books, injecting color into this reading nook.

In their little girl’s bedroom, pops of pink are sweet additions, while a woven chandelier is cute and whimsical.

A rose gold bed frame is prettied up with a felt swan head above and wall hangings that read “dream” and “love.”

A starburst mirror brings a touch of glamor to this vignette.

Two ghost chairs create a place to hang out with friends, play or read books.

A furry bench is topped with pastel-hued throw pillows and vibrant artwork.
