The intersection of homeware and fashion has always been fertile territory for designers. Fashion’s Prabal Gurung is no different — he just launched a home decor collection, which includes items from 12 Etsy shops. The Nepal-born clothing designer has taken his love of color to the next level for Etsy’s first 2021 Creator Collaboration, a program that connects creatives like Prabal with Etsy sellers. Inspired by Prabal’s life, the collection highlights artisans who tell their stories through luxurious and colorful creations.
Prabal has long advocated for diversity and inclusivity, and believes that we are “stronger in color.” To bring his ethos to life, he partnered with sellers from around the globe to co-create these one-of-a-kind tabletop and decor items that invite everyone to have a seat at the table.
From tie-dye table linens, centerpiece-worthy florals, hand-painted dinnerware dipped in gold and beautifully tinted taper candles, each piece within this line takes shoppers on a journey around the globe, all from the comfort of their dining table.
Even everyday items get a fashion treatment, like these embroidered face masks stitched with roses. “I believe that we are more connected to each other when we celebrate the diversity that makes the world a more joyful and colorful place,” says Prabal.
“This collection welcomes you to take a seat at the table and celebrate the art of living, with a worldly sensibility that shines a light on the diverse independent makers in the global Etsy community,” says Prabal.
