Actress Tia Mowry’s Summer Collection With Etsy Is A Monochromatic Dream
For actress, entrepreneur, cookbook author and busy mum of two Tia Mowry-Hardrict, happiness starts at home. “I want my house to feel peaceful and zen”, says Tia, who relies on modern, monochromatic accents to cultivate a soothing space. Inspired by her love of neutrals, metallics, texture and natural elements, the launch of her limited-edition Tia Mowry x Etsy collection is co-created with nine Etsy sellers (including three Canadian makers: mindtheminimal, keephousestudio and CoastalCraftwork). “I hope the pieces help others tap into that same sense of calm in their own homes and lives,” she says. Available now, the limited-edition line is filled with handmade home decor and entertaining essentials, like serving bowls, baskets, tray, throw pillows and more. The multi-hyphenate mogul is a firm believer in treating the home as a sanctuary. With a hectic schedule — juggling everything from shooting Netflix sitcom Family Reunion to sharing her best home and lifestyle hacks on her popular YouTube series Tia Mowry’s Quick Fix — Tia loves coming home to a peaceful, zen environment. With this in mind, she wanted to curate a line of decor items to help others bring that calmness to their own oasis. “Sunday is my favorite day of the week because it’s the day that my family regularly makes time to cook and enjoy a meal together,” she says. “When co-designing this collection, I wanted to create items that elevated and encouraged these small, precious, everyday moments.”
The serving platter’s hybrid shape combines the curved lip of a bowl with the traditional oval shape for family-style dining, or load up the 16″-diameter serving bowl with heaps of salad and pasta when hosting a crowd.
“The gray geometric pattern on the lumbar cushion is understated enough to work with just about any design scheme,” says Tia. “And isn’t everything better with tassels?”
“The ceramic canisters are great storage options,” she says. “I love how bold and graphic the pattern is on these, and the recycled leather loop on the lid is just the cherry on top.”
Tia uses this jar for storage all over the house. The leather loop is repurposed excess leather from the interior design industry.
Co-designed with Tia, this 3″ tall basket can corral remote controls on a coffee table without obscuring the view, or use it as a catchall for toys.
Canadian maker Coastal Craftwork created this nautical-style, striped, rope storage basket, which is large enough to stash a throw, beauty supplies or books near a bedside.
