See How Cortney Novogratz Styled Her Daughter’s First NYC Apartment

A classic New York City fire escape can be seen from one of three windows in the pre-war apartment. Most of the interior furnishings and accessories are from The Novogratz’ home collection.

Tallulah sits in the kitchen nook she helped design with Cortney. The combination of a bistro set with a vintage accent chair and cool art creates an eclectic look for the space. The mother-and-daughter duo worked closely together on choosing paint colors and furniture. The basil green accent wall creates a bold statement in the compact space.

The pretty and bright living room features the Family Of Cranes peel and stick wallpaper from The Novogratz Tempaper Collection — their popular range of wallpapers that are easy to remove. The designs were inspired by their Waverly House in Greenwich Village. During the renovation of their 200-year-old townhouse, they discovered a variety of colors and patterns that influenced the unique wallpaper collection.

“The wallpaper is a nice complement to the brick wall,” says Cortney.

A simple galley kitchen with wood cabinets is livened up with fresh plants, a statement ceiling pendant and a bold floor runner.

They took out one window and put up a wall with a door for Tallulah’s room. “We had to plan carefully and count every inch,” says Cortney.

A brick wall extends into one of the bedrooms where bold art, colorful textiles and a canopy bed establish a lively space.

Subway floor tiles and square shower tiles feel authentically New York City in the bathroom apartment. A patterned shower curtain energizes the space.

An oversized coat rack is located on the wall immediately after you enter the apartment. “It serves as the coat closet!” says Cortney.

Tallulah helped carry paint and supplies between the apartment and the hardware store. “We had a few mother daughter moments on the street — it was about who could carry the most!” says Cortney.
