This year the brand is celebrating a significant milestone: five decades of design, craftsmanship, and a steadfast commitment to democratizing the world of Canadian design. As an integral part of Groupe Home Société, the parent company overseeing major players like MUST, Jardin de Ville, and the Home Société concept store, Maison Corbeil has become central to Canada’s dynamic design scene.

1973
Established in 1973 by forward-thinking visionaries Collette and Raymond Corbeil, Maison Corbeil brought a fresh perspective to Canadian design by introducing contemporary and modern furniture. The brand was one of the first retailers to introduce cult-favorite brands like Ligne Roset, Cattelan Italia, and Ethnicraft to Canadian homes.

1980
In 1980, Maison Corbeil welcome the renowned French brand Ligne Roset into its curated collection. This marked the beginning of an era defined by iconic design, with the introduction of the timeless Togo sofa captivating the hearts of Canadian design enthusiasts.

1982
Colette and Raymond recognized the significance of supporting local industries, and in 1982, Maison Corbeil expanded its range to include locally made furniture, forming partnerships with Quebec manufacturers.
2005
The brand diversified its portfolio with the launch of the MUST brand, in a move to offer modern and accessible furniture options to a broader audience.

2019
The year 2019 witnessed Maison Corbeil’s expansion beyond its Quebec roots, as it ventured into Ontario with the Home Société concept store. “Years of product design, conversation and travel went into shaping the new Maison Corbeil identity you see today,” says Eric Corbeil.

2023
To commemorate this milestone, Maison Corbeil is showcasing a curated selection of its most iconic furnishings from the past five decades. “Our goal moving forward? Expand this concept across Canada.” And the first steps are already underway, with the opening of a third store in Quebec City and more on the way!
