Sophie Gamand’s Pictures Of Pit Bulls Will Warm Your Heart

Photographer Sophie Gamand believes that everyone deserves a home. In an effort to help pit bulls find loving families, the author of the best-selling book Wet Dog created the series Flower Power: Pit Bulls of the Revolution, where she photographs pit bulls in flower crowns to help soften their image. All the dogs from the series are shelter dogs who were waiting for adoption at the time of the photograph. Sophie has photographed about 250 dogs since the project started in the summer of 2014, and we are happy to report that all of the below pit bulls have since been adopted into happy homes.

Suzie’s honey-hued eyes stand out against the purple foliage and backdrop – it’s no wonder she was adopted as a result of this picture.

Little Sweetpea looks so precious, it’s hard to believe she’s a pit bull.

A head full of blooms brings out the softer side of JD.

Blossom looks like she is as excited as we are about the beautiful petals on her flower crown.

The blue tones in this image draw out the sadness in Bane’s puppy eyes when he was looking for an owner.
