The Novogratz X Target Collection Proves Just How Livable Color Can Be
Published on September 1, 2020

Fans of Cortney and Robert Novogratz — the husband and wife design duo known as The Novogratz — will love their new collection of affordable finds at Target. They’re not only known for their high-end residences and boutique hotels, but also for their busy life with seven kids (see their former L.A. home here). That may be what gives the couple such a practical lens when it comes to designing the Novogratz x Target collection, which is splashed with their trademark bold colors (great in kids’ rooms), convertible sofas that become futons and lots of textural velvet tempered for the grown-ups. Plus, slim, smart desks double as chic consoles for students who may be learning from home this fall.

The Concord Computer Desk weighs only 42 pounds and has a drawer to tuck in supplies.

In a peppy persimmon hue, the Brittany Linen Futon combines curved armrests, a channelled back and slanted legs for a unique profile. The nubbly linen upholstery wipes clean easily — perfect for busy family rooms.

The Webster Coffee Table has a deep, hidden drawer for stashing smaller electronics to keep the surface clutter-free. The walnut burl contrasts beautifully with the surfer-chic, tubular legs.

Give rooms a cool, industrial, Brooklyn vibe with this bookshelf. It has a powder-coated metal and woodgrain finish, and comes with a wall anchor kit to prevent tipping injuries and to keep kids safe.

Who doesn’t love the look of cozy velvet on a bed (even though it does make it harder to leave)? The navy Taylor Velvet Upholstered Bed is topped with their Zoey Comforter Set in silky microfibre that’s reversible to a subtle pattern to mix things up.

Luxe quilting makes these Burma velvet chairs (sold in sets of two) even more chic: the flayed legs are inspired by traditional, mid-century modern-inspired, upholstered dining chairs. Use them for a pop of color around a dining table or break them up as accent chairs.

This luxe sofa has a tufted velvet back and seat, which unfolds into a sofa bed for guests.

This curvy daybed is topped with linen upholstery that features nail head trim design on the interior and exterior of the arms. It even has diamond tufted details on the headboard and two storage drawers to house spare linens.

For traditionalists, you can’t go wrong with a button-tuft, graphite sofa in velvet upholstery with scrollwork legs. The multi-functional split back design easily shifts between three positions: sitting, lounging and sleeping, and once the bed is unfolded, it includes plastic-back middle legs to provide additional support.

The two-door Cache Metal Storage Locker Cabinet adds a punch of color in a teen’s room (it also comes in trendy blue, mint and orange), and is practically indestructible. Vents give an authentic locker-style look that allows air flow.
