Chocolate Filled Bonbons Recipe

Recipe:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F.

Step 2: With a stand or hand mixer, cream shortening and sugar in large bowl until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and mix well. Add flour and salt and combine until blended.

Step 3: Wrap about 2 tsp of dough around each chocolate bud or kiss to form a ball. Place about 1″ apart on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes (cookies will brown on bottom only). Transfer from oven to wire rack to cool.

Step 4: Once cookies have cooled completely, decorate as desired with gel and sprinkles.

Makes 40 bonbons

1 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup unsifted confectioners sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 5-oz. box milk chocolate buds or package of kisses (you’ll need 40 chocolate pieces)
Decorating gel candy sprinkles
