Canadian food writers and long-time friends Rose Murray and Elizabeth Baird teamed up to compile a cookbook filled with some of the most quintessential and delicious Canadian recipes. Rose and Elizabeth, as well as other fine chefs from all across the country, have contributed over 125 dishes to Canada's Favourite Recipes (2012 Whitecap Books). Many of the recipes are complemented by personal anecdotes and recollections from the contributors about how the recipe came to be, the origins of the ingredients or the importance of the dish in their family traditions. Serve up mini scotch eggs for brunch this weekend, a moist brisket for dinner, or maple carrot cake for dessert.
