Michael Thomas Vuksta is a retailer with an impressive pedigree (he was VP of Home for Joseph Mimran & Associates, Director of Lifestyles at Indigo, and held positions at Holt Renfrew and Tiffany & Co.). Last November, Michael moved his eponymous antique store from Port Hope, Ontario, to a 100-year-old building in downtown Hamilton. The shop holds a mix of covetable finds from modernist designers like Warren Platner and Milo Baughman to classical brands like Baker and Kittinger. Contemporary art by newer talents like Britt Randle fill the walls. Seeing these pieces in a room setting “makes the whole experience of buying art a little less intimidating,” says Michael.

Located at 318 Dundurn St S, Hamilton.
