Almost Brat: 6 Interiors That Nod To The Summer’s Hottest Color Trend
Updated on August 9, 2024

Step aside, Barbie Pink: lime green is officially the color of the summer!
It all started with British singer Charli XCX‘s new album Brat, a hyper-pop record with a loud, unrefined cover washed in Pantone 3570-C. The album and its notorious green hue quickly spiralled into a fan favorite aesthetic on social media, deeming the ‘brat’ label a badge of honor and lime green the new it color.
Despite its purposeful use of the unconventional color, the New York Times says Brat green has won over the internet. It’s even reached mainstream media heights, with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris embracing a lime green campaign for her democratic presidential nomination run. (The singer endorsed Harris with a post saying “Kamala is brat.”)
While this bold verdant might not be a go-to for interior decorating, its eclectic vibe is something to be inspired by. Here are six rooms serving up that “almost brat” energy.

Colette van den Thillart drenches this formal dining room in cheery chartreuse from wall to ceiling. The vibrant hue is layered with brown furniture and stone accents for balance.

A pop of brat goes a long way in this condo designed by Cori Halpern. Cori chose a lime green accent chair and sofa for a fun contrast alongside a palette of blues and florals.

A green marble vanity glistens in Gillian Gillies’ office powder room. The viridescent hue ties into the floral wallpaper to keep things coordinated and contemporary.

Pea green walls are elegant in this formal dining room, while painterly blooms add a touch of femininity. “When you’re in the dining room with all that lovely greenery inside and outside, you feel like you’re eating outdoors,” says designer Monica Fried.

A child’s room is the perfect place to experiment with bold, joyful shades. The lime throw and deep green bed frame play into the verdant color scheme, while a rainbow mural is a hit of fun.

Mossy upholstery on this banquette has an earthy feel when paired with rattan chairs and a modern black table.
