Editor’s Picks: 12 Cozy Throws To Keep You Warm This Season

Senior editor Sally Armstrong shares her favorite cozy throws for the cold weather ahead.
Now that fall — and chilly fall weather — has arrived, it’s nice to have a throw or two handy to snuggle up with. So I’ve rounded up 12 of my favorite blankets for the cooler days ahead, some super thick and warm, others lightweight enough for year-round use. Whether you go for a chunky- or finer-knit option, it’s sure to look great on display: try one folded at the end of the bed, draped over the back of a sofa or just rolled up in a basket, ready to grab as the temperatures dip.

A woolen blanket with a plaid pattern always looks cozy and casual. I love this one’s electric cobalt color.

A subtle herringbone pattern gives this baby alpaca throw a sophisticated feel.

These simple blankets from Coyuchi have a rustic, cabin-ready look. Pair with a mug of hot chocolate and a roaring fire.

This basic cotton throw from Elte has a nice thick knit, but is made of breathable cotton, so it works throughout the year.

I love the chunky, oversized fringe on this handmade blanket from CB2.

A wide band of citron gives this marled-wool blanket a modern edge.

This Indian-inspired piece from John Robshaw is made of lightweight cotton, and also boasts a gorgeous fringe.

Stylish and fuss-free, this washed-linen throw from Old Faithful Shop is another great lightweight pick.

Anthropologie’s Moroccan Wedding throw would bring plenty of texture to a sofa or bed.

This cotton blanket’s soft grey and white tones are easy on the eyes, while thick stripes make a graphic statement.

Hudson’s Bay’s Scarlet Caribou throw is sure to brighten up any room.

Finally, a chunky blanket from West Elm that reminds me of a cozy sweater. (Plus, with 50 per cent of each purchase directly benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, it’s a heartwarming pick, too.)
