Recipes from Pok Pok

Recipes from Pok Pok - House & Home

Thai dishes from award-winning chef, Andy Ricker.

Considered one of the leading American voices on Thai cooking, Andy Ricker's debut cookbook is named after his Portland, Oregon restaurant Pok Pok (which in turn was named for the sound a wooden pestle makes when it strikes a clay mortar). Ricker compiles recipes learned on various trips to Thailand, along with tips and stories from the people who originated these dishes. Filled with 70 recipes and colourful essays, Pok Pok teaches how to source ingredients, master fundamental Thai cooking techniques and celebrates the rich history of Thai food. Try the Tam Taeng Kwaa (a cucumber salad with shrimp) for an Asian inspired lunch.
