Quebecois design duo — and H&H‘s 2019 Designers of the Year — Les Ensembliers give you a tour of their property, Humminghill Farm. When Richard Ouellette and Maxime Vandal aren’t harvesting fresh flowers, beekeeping or tending to the chickens, they’re unwinding in the newly-renovated 2,000-square-foot farmhouse. See how the couple created “functional beauty” in their space with hardworking materials, savvy storage solutions and unfussy decor. The main floor’s concrete floors and kitchen area allow for seamless indoor-outdoor entertaining, while the light-filled second floor encourages rest and relaxation. Plus, learn how Richard and Maxime restored a pair of old metal bookshelves they found in the garage.
