A delish breakfast or brunch dish.
1 loaf French bread, cut into 1/2" slices
2/3 cup orange juice
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup sliced almonds
Step 1: Grease a 13" x 9" glass baking dish.
Step 2: Arrange bread slices in baking dish, overlapping as necessary.
Step 3: In a large bowl, whisk eggs until blended. Whisk in orange juice, milk, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg. Pour evenly over bread. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
Step 4: Preheat oven to 375°F.
Step 5: Uncover baking dish. Drizzle butter over top and sprinkle with almonds. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until set.
