Steak Rub Recipe

This rub is intended for application just before cooking. If using to marinate meats for any period of time, use sparingly to prevent over-salting the meat.

1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup fresh ground black pepper
1/4 cup paprika
2 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tbsp dried basil
1 tbsp dried thyme
1 tbsp dill seed


Step 1: Combine all ingredients thoroughly and apply to steak or roast. Cook to desired doneness.

Step 2: Remove from heat and allow to cool 5 minutes (for steaks) to 15 minutes (for roasts).
