Cookbook Spotlight: Hot Bread Kitchen
Food editor Kristen Eppich shares the cookbook she’s coveting now.
Recipes that are passed down over time are the most reliable kind. So when New York bakery Hot Bread Kitchen published a cookbook, it was at the top of my list. Hot Bread Kitchen isn’t just your average bakery. They employ and empower immigrant women, providing them with the skills to succeed in the culinary industry. Hot Bread Kitchen’s breads are featured in some of New York City’s best restaurants. From foccaccia to naan, cornbread to Irish soda bread and Moroccan m’smen to rye, the breads they make are as diverse as the women who bake them because the recipes come from their homelands. We’re sharing two delicious recipes from the book:
