Japandi Takes Minimalism To A New Level
There’s a reason this beloved design aesthetic was one of our hottest looks for 2021! Japanese design and Scandinavian minimalism come together to create a one-of-a-kind aesthetic that prioritizes light woods, neutral palettes and clutter-free living. Mjölk founders John Baker and Juli Daoust-Baker are best known for their Japandi interiors, like this serene bedroom in their city home .

Turn Up The Heat In The Kitchen
This year, foodies will be craving a little extra spice in their dishes. Why not give this Charred Cauliflower & Shishito Peppers recipe a try? “Eating shishitos is like playing Russian Roulette: most are mild, but one in 10 is hot,” says food blogger and TV personality Abbey Sharp . “They pair really nicely with mild cauliflower and the sweet, spicy harissa honey dressing. Plus, the little bit of garlic panko on top adds a nice crunch.”

Bathing Is The Ultimate Self-Care Ritual
Bring the spa to your bathroom with a spacious freestanding tub where you can soak your stresses away. Take it up a notch with some essential oils, bath salts and calming candles. “Lying in the tub with the 11′-wide window open feels particularly luxurious when you can hear the night sounds outside and feel the breeze,” says designer and architect Darcie Watson of her Toronto home .

Carve Out A Space For Work
With more people working from home than ever, finding a spot to be your most productive self can be hard, especially if you live in a small space. In her renovated kitchen , food expert and cookbook author Trish Magwood created a “cook’s nook” so she can work on her cookbook, My New Table , out this fall.

Create An Ultracool Vibe With Neon Lights
Take a page from The June Motel’s book with a retro neon sign. “It’s authentically retro, pink and adds a touch of playfulness,” says co-owner April Brown. Or add LED lights in your bedroom to cast an out-of-this-world glow. It’s definitely a popular choice amongst Gen Z!
